TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1.
Upon arrival, transfer to
Imperial Tara Hotel.
After lunch, visit the
Tham Pla
Forest Park and Fish Cave
with a tranquil setting surrounded by
brooks and cool hilly forests suitable for relaxation. A special
feature is the hollow cave filled with fish. The fishes are quite
safe from being caught as believed to belong to the gods. Dinner at
a local restaurant. (L,D)
Day 2.
A full-day tour begins with
a boat trip
along the Pai River, followed by a jungle trekking on back of an
elephant. Visit the long-neck Karen hill tribe (Padong
Tribe) before proceeding to Ka-Ya Karen hill tribe village for a
picnic lunch.
After
lunch, visit Wat Phra Dhat Doi Kong Moo, located at the
hilltop famous for its two Burmese-style chedis, where you can enjoy
panoramic views of Mae Hong Son city. Dinner at the hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 3.
Today's
half-day tour begins with a visit to a morning market followed by a
temple tour. Visits include: Wat Phra Non, home to a
huge Reclining Buddha image of 12-meter long in the Thai Yai style
cast in 1875; Wat Chong Kham, an old temple located on the
bank of the swamp Nong Chong Kham; and Wat Chong Klang, where
a replica of the Phra Phutthasihing is installed on an altar with
wooden figurines of human and animals brought over by Burmese
craftsmen in 1857. Transfer to
the airport for your departure flight. (B)
